Teaching In Elementary School

SD GEDUNG KIWO YOGYAKARTA

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb
Hello, I’m Tiyas Ayu P.D. I’d like to give a little bit the reflection of SDN Gedung Kiwo Yogyakarta that I taught in the first semester. SD N Gedung Kiwo is located in Bantul Street and it’s located beside grave. The school is big and very comfortable to study because it’s not too noisy. So, it helped us to teach them. The first time I taught in this school on October 2012 in the third grade. I taught them about animals. Did you know? The students in this class are very smart and I like them so much because they are very respectful. But some of them were very hard to listen to us. So, I had an idea to make a joke in order to make them laugh and like us. And Alhamdulillah, I got them laugh at my joke. After that, they could follow my instruction and they liked it. We sang a song together and laughed at everything we did. Ms. Dani liked our strategy to teach them and she gave us her beautiful thumbs up. And when the class had been finished, they wanted us to teach them again in the following week. However, we couldn’t teach them in the following week because we moved to fourth grade.

Well, as I was saying that I moved to fourth grade.  I taught them about human body. WOW, yah, I should say WOW again. Do you know why I said like that? I said “Wow” because the students in this class were very naughty. Hmmm, I’m really sorry to say like that. Actually, this class had two trouble makers. They liked to walk around the class and one of them liked to bother me when I taught them. I dislike it so much, but I ought to be professional in teaching. I’d like to cry sometimes. It was my struggle and my experience in teaching. I made a joke again but they laughed again, again, and again. Huwft, it was so hard to me. I made a mini quiz in order not to make them sleepy and wanted me to close the program soon. I dislike this class because their teacher didn’t accompany us when we were teaching. It was so different from Ms. Dani’s class. And Alhamdulillah, finally, I moved again in the second grade. It was Ms. Dani’s class again. Alhamdulillah…..
The following month, I moved to second grade. However, unfortunately it was the last meeting and the duration was too short to teach them, so they didn’t want to be taught by us. So I just gave them a song under the title Where Is Thumbkin. They listened to me so seriously and followed my gestures. Huwft, because time was over, so I closed the program. Hey, I was very amusing, they asked our signatures. Hahahaha, it made me laugh.
Well, that is my reflection text from me. I hope it can be useful and inspire us. I love kids :D.
